A Bit About Me

I have been baking for fun for the past 13 years, starting off baking cookies for my friends in high school. then advancing to proposing, arranging, and hosting over 50 bake sales and baked-goods fundraisers over the past decade. Currently, I have been using my recent health battle t0 expand my knowledge and talent.

Superior baking and cooking with fresh and natural ingredients has run in my family for the past 6 generations.  My great-great-great grand mother was full blood Cherokee Native American who traveled on the Trail of Tears, with her and my immediate predecessors up to my grandmother being born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. There, they learned how to farm and how to combine, extracts, herbs, and spices to create the best flavors.  After migrating to Washington, D.C., the generations continued and so was the knowledge and genes of baking and cooking, with each generation surpassing the last.

A love for food, sweets, baking, cooking and feeding others runs deep in our blood with other cousins also having their own food businesses. It is our DNA for understanding flavors, love for food, and the drive to feed others that made me want to share my knowledge and treats with you.

In 2021, I had a life-threatening battle with COVID which debilitated me to where I was confined to my home for about a year and a half, changing the projectery of both my career and my life.  It is here where I didn't let my health stop me and reinvented hobbies that I could enjoy, and here where I decided to revisit my love of cooking and baking, expanding my treats to serve underserved communities of vegan, sugar free, and gluten free.

Let this be a letter of encouragement to you, no matter how hard life knocks you down, keep pushing through, your path did not close, it just took on a new form, and for me, it took the form of sweets.
